Brunch was amazing! The food and atmosphere at The Hound are unmatched. We got the Big Nasty (on a bun instead of biscuit), the Hound Breaky, and the Bacon Flight. If you get the chance, sit outside! There’s always a nice breeze and the music is top tier
We’ve dined here probably upwards of 10 or so times. We regularly come here for our anniversary each year as well as a couple times throughout the year. We’ve always had great service, but specifically, Bryson has happened to be our server twice recently & is just awesome. We were surprised that he even remembered us the second time because it had been a few months since we last came. He is very thoughtful, intentional, & fast! The FOH staff has gotten us in earlier when we’re starving sooner than our reservation time which is so appreciated & the chef delivers an absolutely perfect ribeye every single time. The bread pudding is exceptional too. (Please bring back the Chinese Five Spice bacon flight though! Lol) We love The Hound!
Brunch was amazing! You can pick from a bunch of different juices for your mimosas! The Bacon Flight was to DIE FOR! The pancakes came with fruit as an option, you don't have to get them this way, same for the French Toast! The hashbrown casserole has conecuh sausage in it, delectable! Our bartender Hensley(Henny) was amazing! Had a great experience all around! Went for dinner and had the bangers and mash and Gnocchi! Highly recommend both! The bread pudding was absolutely amazing! My new favorite dessert in this town!
The dining room was fun, lively, and comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was nicely plated and tasty! I had the bacon flight and chicken n dumplings, the latter being tender & juicy.
Simple solo dinner at the bar. Staff suggested shrimp & grits…rolled the dice and came away happy. Great flavor and the tails were removed. Hate trying to remove the tail shell in a dish with sauce and such. Really good meal.
The bacon flight and bread pudding is a MUST! We also ordered the Bison Burger and the Huevos Houndcheros and both were excellent! The servers were all so sweet and kind! They definitely made me feel very special on my birthday. Next time I am in town, this is the first place on my list!
So much food! We went there for Sunday brunch, arriving around 10:15am on a football weekend. We ended up waiting about 30 minutes for an outside table for four people. Weather and atmosphere were really nice and the food was very tasty with huge portions.
We were in town for a wedding so after the wedding and reception night on Saturday we stopped into the Hound on Sunday for some recovery breakfast. Outstanding outstanding outstanding. They were able to accommodate our group of eight without too much of a problem. The service was second to none. The food was plentiful and outstanding. Not a single person in our party what's left unsatisfied with our visit to the Hound. Really appreciated their service enjoyed the food immensely and the atmosphere made it all come together. What an amazing date night at the hound! We traveled in for the day and on a whim found The Hound via Google search of best food in Auburn and my goodness they did not disappoint. Even though we didn’t have a reservation they got us right in to a cozy corner high top table. We started off with a bacon flight cause who doesn’t love bacon. My husband had the bison burger and said it was the best burger he’s ever had and we have traveled all over the US and eaten at so many different places. He devoured it within minutes but he did allow me a bite and it was super juicy and favorable. I had their Asian take on the chicken and dumplings and it was so delicious I had to ask for a spoon to slurp up all the broth at the end. We had the rum for cover drink and said it was delicious. The manager came over to us and asked how everything was and we let her know how good everything was and how happy we were that we decided to come tonight. She came out a few minutes later with some bread pudding for us for dessert. What exceptional service and experience. Highly recommend this to anyone in the area. Our server Bryson was absolutely fantastic. 10/10 experience
After a long day of airports, flights, rental cars, and travel, I found exactly what I was looking for at The Hound in Auburn, Alabama. Opened in 2012, The Hound has become an Auburn favorite by combining Southern hospitality with creative comfort food. I arrived without a reservation, was quoted a 10-minute wait, and was seated in less than five. My server, Alexis, was friendly, personable, and made a first-time visitor feel right at home. I started with sweet tea and Alexis’s recommendation of the Bacon Flight featuring Chili Margarita, Black & Blue, and Traditional House-Cured bacon. I’ve had bacon before. I’ve had a lot of bacon before. But I’ve never had a bacon flight. For the main course, I went with Hound’s Famous Meatloaf, made with beef, pork, bacon, and chorizo, served with whipped Yukon Gold potatoes and bacon-braised collard greens. This may be the best meatloaf I’ve ever had. And while I don’t recall ever ordering collard greens before, they were surprisingly delicious. (Please don’t tell my wife I just called someone else’s meatloaf the best I’ve ever had.) Everything about this meal exceeded expectations. Great food, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere made this the perfect ending to a long travel day.
